Have you heard about BarIssues.com? If you have, maybe you are wondering if it is worth using to study for the bar? If you have not, maybe you are wondering what it is?

This is my review of BarIssues.com.

What is it?

On its home page, BarIssues says that it provides “law students with the only existing, in depth, searchable database of all legal issues tested on the California bar exam since 2001.” And they aren’t kidding.

BarIssues has analyzed the California bar exam essays in depth to provide you with a break down of issues covered in each essay. This is well beyond simply providing an index by major subject.

Rather, BarIssues provides a deep-dive into the topics covered in each essay. By getting so specific, BarIssues can help you target the areas you need to study.

My Review

Generally, I think BarIssues.com is a great product and will be a useful study aid for at least some bar exam students.

I think it could be especially helpful for bar exam repeaters who need to target their studying. It will also be helpful for first-time takers who want to break their studying into targeted chunks.

Pricing

At the time of this review, there are two pricing levels: (1) $99 for the basic, six-month subscription; and (2) $149 for one year of access.

I think that for most students, the $99 level will be sufficient.

But, you can save $20 off either plan you select when you use my special discount code. The good folks at BarIssues don’t want me sharing this code publicly, so send an email to barissues@barexammind.com, and my digital elves will send you the secret code and the sign-up link.

Conclusion

So, what do you think? Does this look like a worthwhile bar exam supplement? Let me know what you think in the comments.

As a side note, I’d love to see the folks over at BarIssues create similar products for other jurisdictions and for the MEE. I think it would be immensely helpful.
